We are less than 1000 miles from Canada! Yee haw!!! Believe it or not, this is a number I can actually wrap my mind around and it feels SO GOOD!
Today was pretty chill. We did some climbing in the morning but had downhill all afternoon. It wasn't too steep or rocky, so it went relatively fast. We stopped for lunch at a spring near a crazy three-pronged tree. Definitely one of the neater trees I've ever seen. There are fires in the area, one of which we could see, so it was quite hazy. Still beautiful though. And hot and humid.
We caught up with Tourist, Nugs, Nips and Wildflower in camp. I'm glad to be back with those guys. We're planning to get up early to make the 6.4 mile road walk to Seiad Valley for the pancake challenge. We're definitely going to need some recovery time, but the current plan is to hit the trail as soon as possible. At this point, it's just a mad dash for Oregon!
